El Valle beach: perfect for a relaxing day

Ideal to enjoy with family and friends

Located north of Santa Bárbara de Samaná, el Valle beach is a golden paradise of sand and turquoise waters. Surrounded by a valley, hence its name, and protected by exceptional cliffs, it is a perfect place to rest, especially because it is an unspoiled beach that is usually approached by few people.

Its 4 kilometers of beach make it a perfect place to be quiet, either taking a walk, sitting by the sea talking with friends or spending a day with the family. In this place you can breathe a great tranquility.

The picture could not be more spectacular, because in addition to the crystal clear waters, golden sand and the image that gives both the voucher and the mountains that surround it, small fishing boats make it an essential photograph if you want to experience the true essence of the Dominican Republic.

If in addition to enjoying the temperature and spending the day in the sun on a sun lounger you want to discover the local gastronomy, with seafood and fresh fish, the surrounding area has restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy sensational Creole food overlooking the sea.

If you visit the beach with children, make sure they don't stray too far from the shore, as there are strong currents just a few meters from the beautiful coast. Otherwise, it is a perfect place to spend a relaxing day with the family.

But el Valle beach is much more than just a quiet place. In fact, there's something you might be surprised to learn about this area of the Caribbean. Want to know what we're talking about?

Paradise for those looking for waves to surf

Just because of the currents that form in the sea, el Valle beach is a true paradise for surfing. The waves that form in front of this place invite you to grab your board and run towards them, something that surprises those who visit this corner of the Dominican Republic for the first time.

The idea of practicing this sport is something that takes those who don't know it off guard, but the truth is that many surfing enthusiasts seek the waves of El Valle beach as part of their vacations in Punta Cana.

The best waves appear mostly in winter, so the number of people that can be on the beach is even smaller, so the tranquility is more than assured.

Even so, if you want to surf, you don't need to wait until winter to do it in el Valle beach. The sea has movement throughout the year, and the currents are conducive to surfing in any season.

After enjoying the waves, there is nothing like lying down on a sun lounger to rest for a while, enjoying the views and the tranquility offered by the surroundings of this fabulous golden beach.

Another interesting detail of el Valle beach is that it is located next to the mouth of a river. Therefore, if you think that the sea is perfect for surfing, but not for a swim, you can choose to bathe in the river and not give up a refreshing dip.

Tips and recommendations for going to the beach

Have you decided that el Valle beach is one of the places you want to visit? Whether you want to come to enjoy a relaxing day with your family or you want to surf and experience the best waves in the Dominican Republic, pay attention to some tips:

  • Be prepared for the sun. Keep in mind that both on the beach and in the water, the sun's rays can affect the skin. So don't forget to apply suntan lotion from time to time. And when you're lying on the beach with the kids or with friends, wear a hat or cap to protect yourself from the radiation.
  • Wear appropriate clothing. If you want to swim, you should, of course, wear a bathing suit. It is also important to bring a towel for sunbathing on the sand, as well as drying off when you get out of the water. If what you want to do is take a walk along the beach, wear comfortable shoes and light clothing, in addition to the sunscreen we talked about in the previous tip. And if you plan to surf, it's a good idea to wear a protective suit, rather than just a swimsuit, to prevent the water or the sun's rays from affecting you too much.
  • Take care of your surroundings. Keep in mind that you are going to spend the day on a virgin beach, so it is very important that you leave everything the same as when you arrived. Do not throw garbage in places where it is not allowed, and make sure that when you leave everything is in perfect condition. This way, whoever comes after you will be able to enjoy the site just as much.
  • Pay attention to the signs. It is likely that when you arrive at the beach you will find specific recommendations for that day, such as avoiding going into the sea or something else. Respect these warnings and think that they are for your safety.
  • Reserve time to enjoy the local gastronomy. Creole food, based mainly on fish products, is famous throughout the Dominican Republic. El Valle beach is no exception, so organize your visit thinking of completing the experience with one of the restaurants in the area.
