Tour itinerary

The Larimar Mines tour has the following itinerary:

  • 09:00 a.m. - Pick up at your accommodation. An English-speaking driver in an SUV will be waiting for you at the door of your hotel, along with a local guide. You will be able to ride inside or sit in the open back to enjoy the weather while observing everything around you.
  • 10:00 a.m. - Visit to the mine. Once you arrive at the mine, you will enjoy a tour of the town, whose activity revolves around the extraction of stone. The entrance to the tunnels is not recommended because it is a high-risk activity, so if you want to do it, it will be at your own risk. In addition, you will have to inform your guide so that he/she knows about it.
  • 12:00 p.m. - After the visit to the mining town, we will go to Villa Miriam, on the San Rafael River. This natural space offers waterfalls and natural pools that invite you to take a dip. You can also enjoy a typical Dominican lunch, in which case you will have to inform the guide and pay for it separately.
  • 13:30 p.m. - Then we will go to a Larimar workshop, where local artisans carve the stone. You can buy your own jewelry there from one of the vendors in the area, but it is recommended that you consult with the guide beforehand so that he can tell you which ones are the most recommendable.
  • 15:30 p.m. - After the experience, the driver will take you back to your accommodation, enjoying the way back to your hotel.
